YOUTH PROGRAM FOR

REGULAR CLUBS

Invite youth age 19 and under to become members of your Ruritan club. If possible, a minimum of two youth should be brought in at the time the program is initiated. Youth dues will be set by the NBOD (currently $15.00 per year). Initiation fee is the same as active members.

Give formal installation and lapel pin to new members
Indicate on the appropriate report that the club is participating in the Ruritan Youth Program when the new member is reported.
Assign youth to an appropriate Community Service Committee.
To foster a spirit of Fellowship, Goodwill and Community Service, treat the Youth member as an active member.
Encourage youth who leave the community/club to attend college, etc. to consider transferring membership status to Associate member, to another club or urge them to start a Ruri-Teen College Club.

Rationale: To include all youth who are interested in Ruritan membership, and to enourage Ruritan membership in families.

Plan to Send Young People to the

2010 Youth Leadership Conference

This event will be held from July 9 - 11, 2010 at the W.E. Skelton 4-H Educational Conference Center, located on Smith Mountain Lake, about 70 miles northeast of the Ruritan National Office in Dublin, VA. This has to be one of the most beautiful and exciting settings possible for this Youth Leadership Conference. You can see more about the facility at http://www.skeleton4h.ext.vt.edu

This conference is for students age 9 – 19 who may be members of Ruritan, Ruri-Teen clubs, or possibly future youth members of Ruritan or Ruri-Teen clubs who are interested in serving others within their communities.
